On the side of his Sutasoma project, Handojo Simodihardjo is also working on contemporary traditional artwork. He blends traditional cultural items such as Kamasan (traditional Balinese Painting) with a modern colorful palette and adds touches of abstract elements. The inspiration for this work stems from his physical condition; he only has one functional eye, yet symbols always seem to appear from the other eye. The abstract lines represent the path of life, while the colorful palette symbolizes the vibrant world as seen through his eyes. Additionally, he enjoys incorporating cubical shapes and experimenting mixing media, resulting in a fusion of 2D and 3D artwork.
